FUND THE ARCHAEOLOGY AND HISTORICAL ALLIANCE OF THE PEOPLE

Protect Prehistoric Burial Grounds, Sacred Sites, and Endangered Species

We are raising funds to formally establish and support a new preservation organization:

ARCHAEOLOGY AND HISTORICAL ALLIANCE OF THE PEOPLE

This Alliance is being formed to support legal defense, emergency injunctions, documentation, and preservation efforts aimed at protecting prehistoric burial grounds, ancient earthworks, culturally significant landscapes, and endangered species habitats that are currently facing imminent destruction across the world.

The more people who contribute, the more sites and landscapes we can work to preserve. We are also seeking individuals willing to donate their time locally—wherever they live—to help protect heritage and living ecosystems on this planet.

URGENT THREAT: SELDEN, NEW YORK

One of the most immediate and serious threats prompting the formation of this Alliance is located in Selden, New York.

The endangered area encompasses nearly 90 acres of unprotected, undeveloped land, primarily located on Suffolk County Community College property, with additional adjacent parcels on Empire State University property along Campus Road.

THIS IS TOTAL SITE DESTRUCTION

This is not selective tree removal.

Based on on-site observations, survey markings, and equipment activity, the work conducted indicates preparation for full excavation and total removal of the entire site, including:

- Complete tree removal

- Ground grading and disturbance

- Bulldozing of the entire landscape

- Permanent destruction of all surface and subsurface features

If this proceeds, the site will be gone entirely.

SURVEY ACTIVITY: DECEMBER 11–12

On or about December 11–12, the site was actively surveyed in a manner consistent with total excavation:

- Skid steers and heavy equipment present

- Extensive tree markings and survey flags across the entire property

- Ground staking and boundary indicators throughout the wooded areas

These actions indicate preparation for complete clearing and bulldozing, not preservation or limited use.

FAILURE TO ENFORCE NEW YORK LAW

Despite the size and sensitivity of this nearly 90-acre parcel, New York has failed to enforce its own environmental and preservation laws, which require:

- Evaluation of endangered and protected species

- Comprehensive review of large undeveloped parcels

- Consideration of archaeological and historic resources prior to disturbance

As surrounding woods have already been cleared, endangered wildlife—especially Eastern box turtles—have been forced into the last remaining forested areas, placing them at extreme risk if the site is destroyed.

WHY LEGAL FUNDING IS NEEDED

Once bulldozing begins, history, culture, and wildlife are erased forever.

Legal action is often the only tool available to stop irreversible damage in time.

Funds raised will be used for:

- Legal filings and appeals

- Emergency injunctions

- Environmental and historic preservation actions

- Public records requests

- Expert consultation and documentation

- Establishing a permanent preservation alliance

NEW JERSEY CASE: DOCUMENTED LEGAL TIMELINE

The Alliance’s work builds upon an ongoing New Jersey legal case involving a historic and archaeological landscape in Roxbury Township / Succasunna, Morris County.

Court Case Number:

MRS-C-000111-25

Superior Court of Morris County, New Jersey

Filings:

October 1, 2025 – Initial filing (denied)

October 14, 2025 – Appeal filed with a 47-page archaeology and historical report

Court notified it would decide by November 7, 2025 whether oral arguments would be granted

No ruling issued

December 3, 2025 – Five additional filings submitted due to lack of response

As of December 19, 2025, the court has still not ruled on whether it will investigate alleged human remains, tunnels, and archaeological evidence documented at the site.

THE PORFIDO SITE – ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY

The location is publicly referenced as the “Porfido Site” in a 2021 newspaper article and includes the following properties:

201 Route 10 East

Block and Lot: 3602.1

12 South Hillside Avenue

Block and Lot: 3602-9

These parcels are located across from:

- A former Continental Army hospital and arsenal

- Historic churches with sealed tunnel systems beneath their basements

- Areas historically associated with George Washington

ALLEGATIONS REQUIRING INVESTIGATION

The Alliance is seeking lawful investigation into documented evidence that includes:

- Subsurface tunnel systems beneath hand-planted oak trees estimated to be centuries old

- Video-scope documentation showing tunnels believed to have been repurposed as tombs

- Flood-washed tunnels revealing objects believed to be historical or personal artifacts

- Tunnel alignments connecting multiple historic church properties

Despite these concerns, Roxbury Township approved bulldozing on December 4, 2025, with knowledge that archaeological claims and endangered species issues had been raised.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT

Recorded history and documentation in this area includes:

- Discovery of 21 Lenape skeletons during a 1960 excavation, reportedly all east-facing and unusually tall

- Archaeological receipts tied to the Morris County Historical Preservation Society

- Proximity to early meeting houses (1756), Continental Army hospitals, and later churches (1853)

These facts warrant formal investigation and preservation, not destruction.
